HCS 2022 Syllabus: Check Syllabus of Prelims and Mains
HPSC HCS 2022 exam notification can be released anytime. A candidate must check the complete exam pattern and syllabus of Prelims and Mains in order to plan his preparation strategy more effectively. HPSC HCS exam is the most prestigious exam of Haryana conducted by the Haryana Public Service Commission(HPSC). The HPSC conducts the Haryana Civil Services (Exe.) branch exam to recruit candidates for the state civil services and the allied services. Recently, the Haryana Government changed the HCS prelims exam pattern and now it is similar to the IAS prelims exam. HCS exam recruits officers for the state government who are second only to the IAS officers posted in the state. It is the most prestigious exam for the Haryana Public Service Commission.

HCS 2022 -Plan of Examination
HCS 2022 (Ex. Br.) & Other Allied Services Examination will consist of 3 successive stages. These stages include the Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam, and Personal Interview. Candidates qualifying in the Preliminary exam will appear for the Mains exam. The Preliminary Exam is only qualifying in nature. Check out the Eligibility Criteria and Age limit of HCS 2022.

(A) Preliminary Examination (for screening only)
It shall comprise of two papers: Total 200 Marks The papers will be Objective type / Multiple Choices)

Note 1
i) Both the Question papers shall be of objective type (multiple choices) questions and each paper shall be of two hours duration.
ii) Both the question papers shall be set bilingual i.e. in English and Hindi.
iii) For each wrong answer, one fourth (0.25) mark shall be deducted.
iv) The Paper-II i.e. Civil Services Aptitude Test shall be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.
v) The result of the preliminary examination shall be based on the marks obtained in Paper – I only, provided that the candidate has scored 33% marks in Civil Services Aptitude Test (Paper-II).

Note 2
The Preliminary Examination is only for shortlisting of category-wise candidates on the basis of marks obtained by them in the subject of General Studies (Paper - I) only, provided that the candidate has scored 33% marks in Civil Services Aptitude Test (Paper-II). The marks obtained in Preliminary Examination will not be counted towards the final selection.
Note 3:
Based on the Preliminary Examination result, candidates twelve (12) times the number of advertised posts including bracketed candidates, if any, in order of merit, will be admitted to the Main Examination.
Note 4:
The candidates who are declared by the Commission to have qualified for admission to the Main Examination will have to submit scanned documents/certificates in support of date of birth, category {viz. SC / BCA / BCB /EWS/ ESM / DESM / DFF /ESP/ PwBD} and educational qualification online after the declaration of the result of Preliminary Examination.

1 GENERAL STUDIES
- General Science
- Current events of national and international importance
- History of India and Indian National Movement
- Indian and World Geography
- Indian Culture, Indian Polity, and Indian Economy
- General Mental Ability
- Haryana-Economy and people. Social, economic, and cultural institutions and language of Haryana
Questions on General Science will cover general appreciation and understanding of science including matters of everyday observation and experience, as may be expected of a well-educated person who has not made a special study of any particular scientific discipline. In current events, knowledge of significant national and international events will be tested. In History of India, emphasis will be on a broad general understanding of the subject in its social, economic, and political aspects. Questions on the Indian National Movement will relate to the nature and character of the nineteenth-century resurgence, growth of nationalism, and attainment of Independence. In Geography, emphasis will be on the Geography of India. Questions on the Geography of India will relate to the physical, social, and economic Geography of the country, including the main features of Indian agricultural and natural resources. Questions on Indian Polity and Economy will test knowledge on the country‘s political system and Constitution of India. Panchayati Raj, social systems and economic developments in India. On general mental ability, the candidates will be tested on reasoning and analytical abilities.
